ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Year-round mental health case management : Serve as a staff case manager for the Social Safety Net assigned most youth mental health cases referred from camps, REC / STEP. As part of case management, they will be responsible for
Assessment of mental health challenges
Connecting, educating and supporting parents of youth with mental health issuesSupport families navigating to mental health careSSN will explore setting up 'office hours' with the Mental Health Case Manager to provide parents and students an opportunity for consultation on mental health issues.Provide stress management intervention / coping session planServe as the Bullying Coordinator for SSN - in this capacityRespond to escalations from REC / STEP on bullying cases
Serve as the case manager on bullying cases, conduct assessments, connect with parents and teachers and provide guidance on appropriate responseSupervision of Mental Health Professionals and Mental Health interns serving onsite at youth campsServe as the senior Mental Health Professional onsite at residential camps through the summer (rotating between camps)
Supervise volunteer mental health professionals who are onsite at camps through daily debriefs ensuring consistent and appropriate response and careSupervise Mental Health interns who are young professionals or students engaged to provide onsite support. These individuals would need pre-camp training, mentoring and supervision by the Mental Health Case ManagerContribute to Mental Health Training especially for camp staff, REC / STEP teachers on mental health crisis response and escalations in case managementProvide education sessions for individuals and groups on coping skills for mental health issues. This type of support would be an extension of 1 : 1 coping skills sessions currently provided through SSN by mental health professionals.Other responsibilities as a member of the Case Management TeamParticipate in staff meetings, case conferences, professional development and training to increase clinical skills and improve outcomes for critical cases
Complete, document, and submit all discipline-specific requirements for maintaining licensure through applicable State of Texas licensing boards.Comply with policies, legal requirements, and professional, ethical, and quality of care standardsPosition Qualifications :
Mental health professional (for example, LCSW, LMFT, LMSW, LPC, or LSSP, psychologist, psychotherapist, mental health NP or nurse)Knowledge of and ability to use a wide array of evidence-based approaches to address adolescent psychosocial developmentAbility to work cooperatively, collaboratively and effectively with adolescents, families, Institution staff and the communityMay require ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours in order to accommodate parents' work and students' school schedulesExperience working in a fast-paced environment requiring ability to manage competing priorities including referrals, crisis response and client treatment.Minimum of two years of clinical experience working with children or adolescent preferredDemonstrated fluency in English and Urdu / HindiWillingness to travel to residential camps across the US and RECs across TexasIDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ATTITUDE :
