You will be part of a centralized advanced analytics team in a banking firm and play a key role in shaping AML models and frameworks while collaborating with business stakeholders, auditors, and model development teams to ensure adherence to governance standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with the centralized advanced analytics team to develop AML models for transaction monitoring, name matching, and customer risk scoring.
- Interact with various business units such as risk, finance, and controllership to ensure alignment with AML and Enterprise Modeling Governance standards.
- Provide analytical support for actions to mitigate risk and contribute to decision-making on AML policies and procedures.
- Oversee critical AML applications and ensure their effectiveness in mitigating financial crime risks.
- Assess data quality for model development, providing recommendations to improve data integrity at the source.
- Develop rule-based, statistical, or machine learning-based AML models, fine-tune rules, perform testing and validation, and prepare end-to-end documentation.
- Propose improvements to monitoring systems and address risk and control gaps identified during reviews.
- Coordinate with auditors and model development teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and governance practices.
- Experience in financial crime, specifically in the AML domain.
- Strong expertise in developing and validating AML models, along with risk management experience related to AML activities.
- Proven statistical modeling experience, including regression, time series analysis, and related techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of data analysis, mining techniques, and the ability to work with large datasets.
- Hands-on expertise in SQL, ETL, SAS, Python, R, and other scripting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to script and automate using SAS/Python/R for AML model development.
- Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related fields).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-driven, proactive mindset with the ability to manage ambiguity and work independently.
- Strong project management experience, capable of coordinating efforts across multiple business units.
- Ability to lead teams and projects, providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Strong networking, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Prior experience in financial crime, risk assessments, or AML governance.
