We are seeking a highly skilled Data Conversion and Governance Lead to oversee the requirements, design, and development of global data conversion and governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end processes, including data mapping, extraction, loading, and reconciliation across cross-functional systems. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring data quality, integrity, and seamless integration into our new IT ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of global data conversion and governance processes, including process flows, data maps, and standard definitions across multiple systems.
- Assist in creating a detailed data conversion plan for Master Data and transactional data migration to the new IT ecosystem.
- Define and implement data mapping for conversions; prepare and execute plans for data extraction, loading, and reconciliation, along with environment configuration.
- Review conversion templates for source data and assess legacy data requirements for migration.
- Anticipate potential risks and issues in the data conversion process and develop mitigation strategies to ensure a smooth transition.
- Develop a comprehensive data conversion strategy, including historical data, open transactions, and prerequisites for each conversion step.
- Test and validate conversion code in non-production environments, ensuring all errors are identified, resolved, and documented. Participate in achieving a 100% conversion rate with explainable discrepancies documented.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy and execute conversion code in Production environments; monitor job performance, resolve errors, and produce reconciliation reports for business sign-off.
- Design, develop, and maintain reconciliation reports to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Continuously manage and modify processes and data points to support seamless integration as business models evolve or exceptions arise.
- Research and document best practices for data conversion processes and governance.
- Develop and maintain monthly KPIs to track and communicate change requests to stakeholders effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 9 years of experience in data conversion, governance, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, extraction, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience with data conversion tools and technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and data migration methodologies.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and experience in deploying code to production environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data quality and integrity.
- Experience with large-scale data migrations in global organizations.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data storage solutions and tools.
- Certification in data governance or related disciplines.
