PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Maintenance and Environmental Manager is responsible for the implementation, development and maintenance of Environmental and Maintenance plans and programs for the IsoNova Spencer (IA) and Eden Valley (MN) facilities.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the Maintenance function in providing a pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment, utility equipment, and infrastructure.
• Responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work.
• Increase the site operational effectiveness, reduce downtime, and manage and implement improvement plans.
• Develop and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
• Utilize best practices and establish standard policies and procedures while also mentoring and leading the department.
• Implement and manage continuous improvement by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, work practices, and processes.
• Effectively delegate maintenance work to each shift, per the skills of the team.
• Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, schedule missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
• Develop critical spare parts list by equipment priority and maintain inventory of critical spare parts.
• Track maintenance labor and materials costs combined with a strategy to manage expenditure.
• Perform root cause analysis on all downtimes over 60 minutes, determine root cause, develop, track, and implement corrective actions until complete.
• Provide technical expertise to the team as required.
• Auditing of environmental compliance and preparation of applications for environmental related permits.
• Completion of Air Emissions Reports, Stormwater Discharge Monitoring Reports, and SARA Reports.
• Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
• Tracking of regulatory issues with potential impacts to facility or other business units.
• Train associates on environmental best management practices, recordkeeping, and sample collection techniques.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in a related field (BS in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related physical science preferred).
• Proven experience as an industrial maintenance manager. 5 years of industrial maintenance management experience preferred
• Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance operations utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System. (CMMS)
• Technical understanding of equipment maintenance, electrical maintenance, processing systems, and building maintenance
• Competent in problem solving, planning and decision making
• Ability to track and communicate critical issues as needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, is a plus
• Travel up to 40% required
