PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance duties in the Spencer inedible egg processing facility, including but not limited to repairs, routine and preventative maintenance of process equipment, buildings, and grounds.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Universal Expectations:

- Ensure that all care is provided with respect to customer, client and co-workers’ rights
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment
- Maintain confidentiality
- Adhere to work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks
- A trained designee will be appointed by plant management to cover for absences or vacancies
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Successfully complete assigned maintenance tasks in allotted time.
- Maintain egg processing equipment
- Maintain mechanical systems, including but not limited to Dryer, Concentration Skids, Boiler, Chiller
- Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative and routine maintenance of building, equipment, and grounds.
- Communicate with management on day-to-day maintenance issues
- Assist with parts inventory
- Assist with snow removal with shovel as necessary or assigned
- Responsible for repairs, troubleshooting, routine, and preventive maintenance as needed on weekends or as scheduled
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and procedures
- Understand and interpret company, industry, state and federal regulations
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Industrial Maintenance experience preferred. At a minimum, Mechanically inclined
- Ability to weld and fabricate metal or learn within 6 months of hire date
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely
- Knowledge of basic chemical usage and safety
- Ability to drive shag truck with/without tanker attached and operate forklift and scissor lifts
- Mathematical Skills: General Arithmetic/Basic Algebra/Percentages/Fractions
- Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
- Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in English (speaking, writing and reading)
