The Senior Energy Engineer will lead project teams to deliver energy conservation projects, leveraging expert knowledge in energy engineering solutions. Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of energy conservation projects with high accuracy and productivity, while self-directing project activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, estimators, energy auditors, proposal specialists, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate technical information clearly to customers, advising on energy efficiency opportunities for their facilities.
- Conduct on-site energy surveys, gather data, and maintain productive relationships with customers.
- Analyze utility data to support project and proposal development.
- Assist the sales team in project development and presentation delivery.
- Provide project specifications to the proposal team for RFP responses.
- Prepare detailed reports and spreadsheets outlining solutions.
- Work with project managers and estimators on project cost development.
- Build strong working relationships across the team and with external partners.
- Develop and refine realistic energy savings calculations, troubleshooting discrepancies when needed.
- Act as audit lead or provide technical support for audits.
- Continuously optimize work efforts to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and maintain required certifications.
- Support special projects as directed by management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned within the Senior Energy Engineer role.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the work of assigned Energy Engineers, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of five years of engineering experience with a focus on energy systems, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable practices in commercial, industrial, and government sectors.
- Experience in leading teams or managing projects.
- Certifications such as E.M. or Professional Engineer status are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
