A Service Engineer, Turbocharger will be responsible for providing technical support and services to our customers for turbocharger products. This role will work independently, or in a team and lead a small team of techs as needed. Responsible for customer service internally and externally. Professional responsibility in delivering all tasks assigned to the company standard.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assembly and Disassembly: Perform assembly and disassembly of turbochargers and their components according to manufacturer instructions.
- Inspection and Diagnosis: Inspect turbochargers for wear and damage, diagnose issues, and determine necessary repairs.
- Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance and repair work on turbochargers, including cleaning, reconditioning, and replacing parts.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports on the condition of turbochargers and the work performed.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
- Customer Support: Provide technical support and advice to customers, both onsite and remotely.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and technicians to coordinate repairs and share knowledge.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of turbocharger systems and components.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in performing maintenance and repairs.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with customers and team members.
- Availability to travel and work occasionally during weekends.
- Ability to write detailed technical reports.
- Professional representation of the company when communicating with customers.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: A recognized electrical or mechanical certificate from an accredited trade school or military training institution, or an associate degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with turbochargers (ABB, MAN, NAPIER, MET, etc.), marine diesel engines, or similar mechanical systems. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to stand for long periods and be comfortable with kneeling, stooping and working in cramped and uncomfortable positions is required.
- Should be prepared to twist and turn the body often and must be open to working outdoors in various weather conditions.
