PAY: Commensurate with education and experience
In support of the college, this position will coordinate various aspects of the clinic for Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene students. Complete administrative duties related to inventory and maintenance of the dental hygiene clinic, ensure OSHA guidelines for infection control are maintained during clinics and labs, oversee the scheduling of students in clinic rotations, oversee faculty rotations in clinics, mentor new and adjunct faculty working in labs/clinics, perform chart audits, audit and maintain HIPAA compliance, audit and maintain NC RAD protocols, Serve on department, division, and college-level committees. Responsibilities
1. Serve as clinic coordinator for the ICC Dental Clinic:
A. Coordinate with budget managers to order, stock, maintain, and inventory all supplies for the dental clinic
B. Oversee maintenance of dental equipment.
C. Manage equipment repair issues
D. Oversee student/faculty rotation scheduling for all dental clinics on and offsite.
E. Oversee clinical calibration of faculty.
F. Oversee Dental Assisting and Hygiene Handbook clinic-related updates.
G. Prepare a long-range rotation calendar, and infection control calendar for dental clinic and audit both
H. Issue handpieces and other instruments to dental hygiene students.
I. Coordinate clinic drawer/locker room assignments for dental hygiene students.
J. Coordinate equipment loan for State Boards.
K. Coordinate with radiology instructors to maintain radiation badges for all dental students and faculty
L. Work with the budget manager to inventory supplies at the end of the year.
2. Print, staple and organize teaching materials, activities, and handouts for each course taught.
3. Coordinate student instrument kits, working with DEN 121 1ead instructor.
4. Prepare and lead lab activities.
5. Collaborate with dental director on CODA needs, formatting, and preparation.
6. Assistance in combining departmental self-study accreditation report and annual survey required by the American Dental Association and assist with Program Review reports.
7. Participate in development of annual departmental budget requests.
8. Abide by policies, standards, goals, and objectives of the College and Department.
9. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation activities to improve the instructional quality of the programs.
10. Serve on department, division, and college-level committees.
11. Perform related duties such as advising students on clinic rotations and needs.
12. Schedule at least 2 office hours per week.
13. Seek opportunities for professional development through study, seminars, and/or on-the-job practice.
14. Serve as a resource to the dental community
15. Disseminate departmental information to prospective students and aid director with recruiting.
16. Facilitate synchronous Dental Hygiene courses with technology set up and classroom management
17. Perform duties as assigned by the Dental Programs Director.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Current CDA Credential
2. Five years’ work experience as a clinical dental assistant.
3. Current Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification.
