Position Description
Essential Functions
The Director of Talent Management is responsible for leading all HR functional areas with a focus on recruitment, retention, and professional development processes. This position is also responsible for addressing personnel matters.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Working knowledge of all human resources (HR) functional areas.
- Extensive knowledge of talent management processes, including recruitment, retention, and professional development.
- Familiarity with federal and state HR regulations and reporting requirements.
- Advanced supervisory skills.
- Proficiency in HR-related software platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to present to campus wide audiences.
- Ability to adequately address personnel matters.
- Ability to make decisions that advance the Isothermal Community College mission.
Responsibilities
Talent Management
- Provide strategic direction to the HR department.
- Collaborate with departments campus wide to identify and recruit new employees to the College who meet and exceed position qualifications.
- Design and implement robust onboarding procedures that support talent retention.
- Support the annual employee review process.
- Assist campus partners in determining professional development (PD) needs and facilitate regular PD sessions.
- Lead the resolution of all personnel matters.

- Support Manager of Employee Services in engagement with current and prospective benefits vendors.
- Ensure College employees receive adequate advisement on benefits options, especially during onboarding and open enrollment periods.
Other
- Ensure the timely completion of part-time contracts.
- Support the development and implementation of sound campus safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field, required.
- Minimum five years of human resources experience, required.
- Prior talent management experience in a supervisory role, required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree, preferred.
- Community college experience, preferred.
