In support of the overall Learning College, the Construction Trades Training Instructor is responsible for providing a high-quality learning experience for all College students. The instructor will teach construction trades courses in Continuing Education and Building Construction courses in the Building Construction Technology Program; provide high quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations; perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College. This position is a grant funded position with funding available for a period of two years.

The instructor will teach construction trades courses in Continuing Education and Building Construction courses in the Building Construction Technology Program; provide high quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations; perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College. This position is a grant funded position with funding available for a period of two years.
Responsibilities
- Develop course outlines and teaching materials to deliver the training demanded by the construction trades industry such as NCCER, OSHA, etc.
- Facilitate the delivery of courses in the Building Construction program each academic year
- Instruct a combination of traditional, internet, and hybrid classes (this includes evening and weekend classes).
- Provide input on the Building Construction equipment and supply budget
- Serve as an ambassador in the community for the Isothermal Community College and the Building Construction Technology program and Construction Trades Training.
- Responsible for recruiting and managing the construction trades training academy.
- Assist and consult with the Dean, upon request
- Other duties as assigned.
- Develop an understanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community College.
- Ability to work with others and describe technical issues to non-technical personnel.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels and in a variety of work environments.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be highly organized.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and with a minimum of supervision.
- Minimum of three years work experience in the construction industry, required
- 10 Hour OSHA card, 1926 OSHA Authorized Instructor, NCCER Basic Construction Skills, NCCER instruction certification, preferred
- Equipment Certifications (Excavation, Forklift, Scissor Lift), preferred
- Associate's degree in construction or related field, preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
