Title: Scrum Master/Senior Project Manager (Data Analytics)

Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid Role - must work onsite 2-3 days/week along with some remote work)

Duration: November 2024 - October 31, 2025

Our client is embarking on an innovative Data Analytics project aimed at leveraging a comprehensive data platform solution. This project integrates systems and processes across various business areas such as Sales, Manufacturing, Product Planning, and various platforms such as SAP, Power BI, AWS, and custom-built solutions. We are seeking a dynamic Scrum Master/Project Manager who can lead the Data Analytics project, facilitate team collaboration, and deliver high quality data analytics solutions. Duties will include the following:

Scrum Master:

• Facilitate daily stand-up meetings to review progress, discuss any roadblocks, and plan the day's work.
• Organize and lead sprint planning sessions to define the work for the upcoming sprint.
• Conduct sprint reviews to showcase completed work and retrospectives to discuss what went well and what could be improved.
  
  

Project Management:

• Monitor the progress of tasks and ensure they are on track.
• Update project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) with the latest status.
• Allocate resources effectively to ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Adjust resource allocation as needed based on project demands
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor existing risks and update risk management plans.
  
  

Stakeholder Communication:

• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and next steps.
• Prepare and distribute status reports.
• Schedule and attend meetings with stakeholders to discuss project requirements, progress, and any issues that need resolution.
  
  

Team Collaboration:

• Assist team members in resolving any impediments they encounter.
• Provide guidance and support to ensure they can complete their tasks effectively.
• Encourage open communication and collaboration within the team.
• Promote a positive and productive team environment.
  
  

Continuous Improvement:

• Continuously look for ways to improve project processes and team performance.
• Implement changes based on feedback from retrospectives and other sources.
• Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  
  

Required Skills and Expertise:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field. master's degree is a plus.
• 5 years of experience in project management
• 3 years serving in a full Scrum Master role
• Experience performing the following Scrum Master duties:
• Facilitate daily stand-up meetings to review progress, discuss any roadblocks, and plan the day's work.
• Organize and lead sprint planning sessions to define the work for the upcoming sprint.
• Conduct sprint reviews to showcase completed work and retrospectives to discuss what went well and what could be improved
• Must be a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or have an equivalent Agile certification.
• Experience managing projects from inception to completion. this includes planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases.
• Practical experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban
• Ability to apply these methodologies to manage and deliver projects efficiently
• Experience in leveraging data analytics to drive business decisions.
• Understanding how to interpret data and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
• Proficiency with data analytics tools (Power BI/Tableau) and platforms (AWS, SAP) and experience in integrating these tools with existing business system
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, managers, and team members.
• Ability to manage expectations and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
• Skilled in providing regular updates and detailed reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop solutions to address business challenges
• Expertise in developing comprehensive project plans that outline tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones.
• Experience ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Skilled in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
• Expertise in developing contingency plans and managing unexpected challenges.
• Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams.
• Ability to motivate and guide team members towards achieving project goals.
• Skilled in managing change within an organization.
• Ability to navigate and lead teams through transitions and transformations.
• Proficiency working with the following:
• Project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
• Data analytics platforms (e.g. Power BI)
• Cloud services (e.g., AWS)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desired Skills and Expertise:

• PMP Certification is a plus.
• Experience in data analytics projects is highly desirable.
• Experience in automotive and motorcycle OEM industry in a plus.
• Understanding industry-specific challenges and opportunities can help in tailoring data analytics solutions effectively.
• Familiarity with business processes and workflows within these industries. this includes knowledge of supply chain management, sales cycles, production planning, and inventory management.
