We are looking for a strategic and innovative Director of Curriculum Development to lead the vision, execution, and optimization of our course portfolio. This role requires a leader bridging the gap between expert knowledge and structured, engaging learning experiences that drive learner success and business growth.
You will be responsible for developing high-quality, engaging, scalable, and adaptive learning experiences. You will also play a key role in building and nurturing a network of influencers and subject matter experts who will contribute to our curriculum, enhance our credibility, and help distribute our content.
This role is both pedagogically rigorous and commercially strategic, ensuring that ISSA’s curriculum remains at the forefront of fitness education while driving learner engagement and career outcomes.

What you’ll do:
- Drive the course portfolio strategy, ensuring our offerings align with market trends, business objectives, and learner needs.
- Identify success outcomes for courses and design curriculum to achieve those benchmarks, integrating AI-driven analytics to refine learning paths.
- Execute on the content vision, creating high-impact, outcome-driven learning experiences for our students.
- Recruit and manage a network of influencers and subject matter experts to feature in, share, and contribute to our educational programs.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), including learner engagement, NPS, and business impact, and report insights to stakeholders.
- Identify curriculum development tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and innovation in online learning.
- Ensure all curriculum adheres to best practices in instructional design, adult learning principles, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and tech teams to align curriculum strategy with go-to-market efforts and audience growth initiatives.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in AI-driven learning, edtech, and fitness education to bring innovative ideas into our curriculum.
- 7 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in building and scaling online learning programs for adult learners in a B2C environment.
- Experience developing course success frameworks, with a strong focus on learner engagement, retention, and measurable learning outcomes.
- Strong instructional design expertise, including knowledge of learning theories, curriculum best practices, and engagement optimization strategies.
- Strong background in instructional design, adaptive learning, and AI-powered learning experiences.
- Experience in recruiting and managing subject matter experts, influencers, and industry leaders to contribute to educational content
- Analytical mindset with a strong grasp of KPIs, learner engagement metrics, and how to use data to improve learning outcomes.
- Deep understanding of learning management systems (LMS), curriculum development tools, and content delivery platforms.
- Strategic thinking—balancing educational rigor with commercial success.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
