Orthodontic Assistant Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Orthodontic Assistant to join our team and contribute to the efficient and high-quality care of our patients. The ideal candidate will assist the orthodontist in providing orthodontic treatments and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. Attention to detail, excellent patient care, and adherence to infection control protocols are essential for success in this role.
Duties:
- Welcome and prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, ensuring their comfort throughout the procedure
- Assist the orthodontist with procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Set up and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials required for orthodontic treatments
- Sterilize instruments following strict infection control guidelines
- Utilize knowledge of dental terminology and general dentistry practices
- Provide post-treatment instructions and oral hygiene education to patients
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical imaging and 3D scanner data
- Assist with medical coding, billing procedures, and managing medical records
- Ensure aseptic technique is followed during all procedures
Experience:
- Proven experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft and Cloud 9 software is a plus
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and 3D scanning technology
- Proficiency in infection control practices and aseptic techniques
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
