About the Role :
We are seeking a highly motivated Utility Telecommunications Project Manager to lead a portfolio of operational telecommunications projects, including the transition from copper to fiber infrastructure and the retirement of legacy circuits. This role is crucial in coordinating efforts among various internal and external stakeholders, ensuring financial and milestone tracking, and developing strategic solutions to mitigate project-specific risks.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee the strategic development and execution of operational telecom programs.
Collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups, including engineering teams, project management, operations, procurement, and IT.
Ensure timely procurement of materials to meet project deadlines.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using scheduling tools such as P6, aligning responsibilities across various teams.
Manage resource allocation for engineering and field teams, including outsourcing coordination when necessary.
Organize program-specific training and communication efforts to meet regional and departmental requirements.
Identify, document, and drive resolution of project risks and issues.
Capture and implement lessons learned to enhance future project execution. Qualifications :
Education :
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with significant project management and construction experience. Experience :
Minimum of 4 years' experience managing utilities or telecommunication projects.
Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver complex projects and lead teams.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints. Technical Skills :
Proficiency in scheduling software such as P6.
Knowledge of power systems, telecommunications engineering, and regulatory compliance is advantageous. Certifications :
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Soft Skills :
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Proactive approach with excellent collaboration skills across various stakeholders, including regulatory representatives and local authorities.
