Overview
We are seeking a dynamic professional individual with an excellent background and experience of 3 years in event planning/conference support as a Conference Center Coordinator/Assistant Manager located in our downtown Houston, TX office. This role requires flexibility in the work schedule as well as ability to coordinate with various parties/entities to ensure full compliance is met on all requested meeting events, including scheduling, pre-prep & post clean up, etc. The ideal candidate must be detailed oriented with a focus in customer service. Hourly Compensation: $28.00 - $30.00 USD per hrly (DOE)
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (may include some evenings and weekends)
Location: Houston, TX (Downtown area)
Responsibilities
The Conference Center Coordinator/Assistant Manager will be responsible for coordinating with various parties/entities to ensure full compliance is met on all requested meeting events, including scheduling, pre-prep & post clean up, etc. Additional responsibilities include:
- Oversee conference room setups per scheduled specifications
- Ensure meeting rooms are cleaned and prepped before and after meetings
- Coordinate and arrange for all meals (breakfast and/or lunch) including vendor deliveries
- Provide support and backup to office manager
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures
Qualifications
The qualifications for the Conference Center Coordinator/Assistant Manager must be detailed oriented with a focus in customer service and an excellent background & experience in event planning/conference support. Additional qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Professional demeanor - a must
- Demonstrate sound judgement with the ability to think quickly during an emergency situations
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written)
- Maintain a flexible work schedule to include evenings, weekends, etc
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
