Janitorial Services Supervisor

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated leader with a strong background & exceptional experience in custodial services to join our IST Management team as a Janitorial Services Supervisor in our Houston, TX office.  This role requires flexibility in the work schedule as well as ability to work over when the need arise.  The ideal candidate must have a keen eye for detail, and have prior supervisory/leadership experience with a focus & understanding of hygiene procedures and regulations within a corporate environment.  This includes managing and directing janitorial staff members, ensuring all cleaning assignments are completed efficiently, organizing work schedules, as well as handling janitorial emergencies whenever they occur.  IST Management Services is the fastest growing, national management company in the industry.  IST Management is a BPO Company (Business Process Outsourcing) specializing in providing solutions for the management of physical and digital information through Facilities Management, eDiscovery, and Electronic Document Management services.

Hourly Compensation: $25.00 - $26.00 USD per hrly (DOE)

Work Schedules: Day Shift - (Monday - Friday   8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)          Evening Shift -  (Monday - Friday   3:00 PM - 12:00 AM)  (shifts may include working after-hours and weekends)

Location:   Houston, TX  

Responsibilities

The Janitorial Services Supervisor will be responsible for managing and directing janitorial staff members, ensuring all cleaning assignments are completed efficiently, organizing work schedules, as well as handling janitorial emergencies when they occur.  Additional responsibilities include:

• Oversee and coordinate the assigned tasks & duties for the janitorial staff 
• Inspect work & premises daily to ensure tasks are fully completed according to all specifications and established standards
• Train staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety & health regulation procedures, and use of cleaning products
• Manage and maintain cleaning supplies stock and order as needed per inventory
• Address and resolve any janitorial emergencies, complaints or issues in a timely manner  
• Maintain records of services performed and prepare required reports to management
• Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and feedback

Qualifications

The qualifications of the Janitorial Services Supervisor must have a keen eye for detail and have prior supervisory/leadership experience with a focus and understanding of hygiene procedures and regulations within a corporate environment.  Additional qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1 - 2 yrs of proven Leadership/Supervisory experience
• Professional demeanor - a must
• Proven knowledge and background experience in handling cleaning products and its use 
• Demonstrate sound judgement with the ability to think quickly during an emergency situations
• Excellent organizationl skills (includes Microsoft proficiency) and communication skills (both verbal & written)
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to include after-hours & weekends
