What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Intelligence Developer position at iStaff?
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Developer to join our client's data and analytics team. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of experience in developing and managing Power BI solutions, as well as a strong foundation in SQL and data warehousing concepts. You will play a critical role in setting up and maintaining Power BI infrastructure, gathering business requirements, and delivering actionable insights through dynamic reporting and data modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide meaningful business insights.
- Set up and manage Power BI environments including pipelines, development/test setups, and report distribution systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and communicate effectively with the data architect.
- Enhance and optimize data models to support reporting and analytics needs across the organization.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Apply a strong understanding of data warehousing principles to ensure data integrity and efficient data structuring.
- Partner with business teams to understand their goals and translate data into actionable insights that drive decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications (Huge Plus):
- Experience with QlikView
- Background in the Insurance industry or familiarity with insurance data models and terminology.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms.
