To do this, we have an engineering headquarters in Cambridge, MA for focused technical development and several times per year we gather for an off-site that allows us to develop our professional skills and our team relationships.

Join our dynamic and growing company, known for its revolutionary technology. We are seeking an experienced Finance and Accounting Leader to play a pivotal role in driving our financial strategy and contributing to the company's overall growth and success. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in finance and accounting within VC-backed software companies, specifically in aerospace-defense and government contracting.

• Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support our growth objectives.
• Accounting and Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports and advice to the executive team, the board  and investors, providing insights and recommendations for improving financial performance while strictly adhering to accounting principles.
• Investor Relations: Effectively engage with VC’s and other potential investors, providing transparent and accurate accounting and forecasting.  Play a leading role in raising additional capital when needed.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and financial reporting requirements, including DCAA and FAR regulations.
• Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow and working capital to support day-to-day operations and growth initiatives.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing appropriate controls and processes to foster sustainable growth and overall company success. 
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the company's overall strategic plan, with a focus on financial implications and opportunities.
• Vendor and Contract Management: Oversee vendor contracts, negotiations, and procurement activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance/accounting leadership roles.
• Strong experience in VC-backed software companies in aerospace-defense and government contracting. Strong understanding of government contracting regulations, including DCAA and FAR compliance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Deep understanding of accounting rules, especially in the government contracting environment.
• Proven success dealing with investors and raising capital.
• Proven track record of developing and executing financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
• Familiarity with financial software that is well-suited to the government contracting environment.  
• Familiarity with the Google Suite environment.
• DoD Top Secret (or Secret) Security Clearance required."
