POSITION SUMMARY
We're seeking a dynamic Marketing Manager to drive membership growth and engagement across our educator communities. This role will develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns to attract new members while supporting some retention initiatives for ISTE and ASCD membership programs. This individual will lead in the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of marketing activities that will drive the organization’s membership acquisition targets. This position requires a candidate that can drive membership acquisition through multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email, social media, content marketing, and digital advertising.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with the Senior Director, Marketing Management on the development of the overall marketing strategy for professional development products and services.
- Plan and implement creative, go-to-market strategies and integrated marketing plans across various channels designed to drive membership acquisition.
- Lead development of membership messaging and value propositions targeted to specific audiences and personas.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to integrate membership messaging across all touchpoints. Partner with content teams to create targeted marketing materials that highlight member benefits, professional learning opportunities, and community value.
- Collaborate with the membership team to develop compelling value propositions and messaging that resonates with different educator segments.
- Create upsell and cross-sell opportunities in coordination with relevant stakeholders and other marketing team members.
- Analyze membership data and campaign performance metrics to optimize strategies, conversion rates and member engagement.
- Optimize product positioning for different market segments based on web analytics and customer feedback.
- Assist in staffing conference exhibit booths at conferences, promoting the value of membership, and engaging with customers.
- Manage marketing automation systems and CRM tools to deliver personalized communications throughout the member journey.
- Develop and maintain marketing budget while tracking ROI of acquisition campaigns.
SALARY: $90,000.00 to $95,000.00
POSITION TYPE: HYBRID (one day per week in office)
Qualifications
Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in membership marketing or subscription-based customer acquisition.
- Proven track record of achieving growth targets through digital marketing campaigns.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot) and CRM systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from complex data sets Knowledge of education sector trends and educator professional development landscape.
- Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Experience with A/B testing and optimization of marketing campaigns.
- Experience with the K12 market is also preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of association or nonprofit membership models.
- Familiarity with education technology and professional development programs.
- Experience with marketing analytics tools and attribution modeling.
- Strong writing and content development capabilities.
- Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, internet browsers, and web-based office applications for collaboration and project management.
