What are the responsibilities and job description for the TRANSPORTATION DESIGN ENGINEER - CIVIL position at Isthmus Engineering?
As an entry level or emerging Design Engineer at Isthmus Engineering, you will be part of project teams and contribute to meaningful work from the beginning. You will belong to a primary focus area within our Roadway, Traffic, Water Resources, or Transit service areas based on your interests and our project priorities. You will also have the opportunity to explore and develop in other service areas as you gain experience toward professional licensure.
The responsibilities for the position of Design Engineer include:
- Collaborating with team members to efficiently deliver successful transportation-related projects.
- Maintaining steady progress toward developing transportation-related engineering abilities.
- Supporting roadway and transit design efforts, in accordance with governing design standards.
- Leveraging CADD based design tool, in adherence with agency CADD standards.
- Supporting the documentation of Isthmus CADD and Design Procedures.
- Evidencing continued commitment to individual, company, and industry improvement.
Our ideal candidate must have or be working toward:
- Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- FE/EIT certification.

Compensation and Benefits
- The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000–$85,000/year for a 40-hour base work week. Compensation will be based upon experience, education, skill level, and other factors.
