Primary Function
The primary function of the online teacher is to facilitate the course virtually to students using online instructional practices and in accordance with established procedures and expectations set by the school. Every iSucceed Teacher should be on a personal mission to motivate and inspire students to commit to their education and work to their potential for educational and personal success in their future.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to work as a team to accomplish iSucceed’s mission/goals and carry out Strategic Plan priorities relevant to your role
Follows the Idaho Code of Ethics for education professionals
Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills and decision-making abilities to facilitate the high school learning experience and perform the functions of a high school educator in a virtual setting
Manage courses, curriculum and communications for content and advisory students in accordance with expectations that promote student engagement and success
Demonstrates an ability to work independently with little direct supervision and is self-motivated, coupled with the ability to work as part of a team
Demonstrates a strong work ethic, effective multitasking and strong time management skills
Convey a professional image as well as effectively represent the organization as appropriate in its relationship with students, families, faculty, mentors, administrative personnel and the community
Full time teachers are expected to be available for meetings with other school staff and/or students and parents during regular school hours.
Respond to student and family emails or questions as soon as possible and within 1 school day/24 hour response time, not including weekends/holidays
Grade assessments and assignments as soon as possible with applicable feedback and direction to promote increased student progress, no more than 3 school days/72 hour response time, not including weekends/holidays
Uphold teacher expectations and procedures as determined annually regarding specific school initiatives, online system and communication duties and in conjunction with the teacher evaluation standards
Teachers will conduct either weekly synchronous sessions, hold online lab hours or video instruction for each course taught
Establish and communicate the times at which you will be “at work” during the workweek with administration, students and parents. The times at which you will be working must be times during which students are most likely to need your responsiveness
Comply with individual student IEP’s, Section 504 Plans or any other required or mandated plan for any individual student
Teachers shall respect the confidentiality of all students to the extent that such confidentiality is consistent with the legal obligations of the school
Assist with curriculum review tasks, as needed and requested
Attend staff/faculty meetings as scheduled by the School Administration
Assist with student orientation / on-boarding and test proctoring in person regionally or remote as assigned by the school administration
Attend information sessions, “walk to class” and student events in the regional area in which you reside as needed in accordance with annual procedures
Sponsor school club activities, as assigned
Submit expense, mileage claims in a timely manner through employee management software as required by policy or established procedures
Submit sick time to Administration and make necessary arrangements for cover in classes in which you are unable to attend for sick or leave time if needed. Provide the Principal with the required scope of work for the coverage and substitute time needed. Work with the Principal and Substitute for a smooth transition for the Substitute
Summer school contract offerings can be applied for to earn additional pay/contract

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Evidence of the willingness and ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the Idaho State Board of Education and with willingness and ability to comply with the statutes established by the Idaho State Legislature applicable to educators and the educational setting
Ability to exemplify iSucceed’s Core Values in work performance
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures in the field of instruction and course(s) of instruction and the willingness and ability to explore and implement new and different theories, concepts and practices in the field of instruction
Technological proficiency and abilities necessary to address a virtual learning environment, including but not limited to online systems, internet and web-related technologies
Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, in English, to allow for the ability to communicate with students, families, staff, mentors, community and administrative personnel
Ability to have regular and predictable attendance with duties, meetings and school events
Perform their teaching assignment, including the maintenance of the teacher’s “Office”, within the geographical boundaries of the state of Idaho, unless otherwise approved by the Board prior to June 20, 2016
Education & Experience
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the respective academic program or related field.
Possess a valid Idaho Teacher Certification, proper endorsements and for specific classes assigned.
Multiple language abilities is a factor given consideration (preference) in hiring, but is not a requirement.
Acceptable results from required fingerprint/background checks.
Reside in the State of Idaho unless otherwise approved by the Board of Directors.
Prior experience teaching within an online setting and Google Apps for Education is preferred.
Prior experience teaching non-traditional students is preferred.
