Must be able on rare occasions to bend, crawl, climb, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level in the performance of job duties. Must be able to work in hot, cold, and high-altitude extremes.
The position requires 10 - 15% travel, including overnight and weekend stays.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

- Performs testing and evaluations of commercial vehicles, and their propulsion, energy storage systems, controls and establishes criteria and testing methods for future North American Commercial vehicles.
- Participates in the deployment of the model-based development (MBD) process within ITCA.
- Develops and improves modeling capabilities, methodologies, processes, and tools.
- Conducts hardware performance analysis simulations and optimization tasks.
- Contributes to the promotion of MBD techniques throughout engine and vehicle engineering process.
- Proactively works with Calibration Engineers who are responsible for testing and calibration release to optimize calibration content.
- Works with Isuzu global teams in the development of high-fidelity System Level Vehicle Models.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Reports to: Manager, CV Testing & MBD
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Direct coursework in internal combustion/ BEV / Alternative powertrains engines preferred
- Seminar/industrial training in specialty preferred
- Minimum three years’ experience in automotive research and development, concentrated experience in automotive development.
- Experience in GT-Suite and MATLAB/Simulink preferred
- Knowledge of automotive products
- Knowledge of automotive mechanical/electrical systems
- Excellent PC skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Developed skills in engine development as demonstrated by scholarly/industrial achievements
- Ability to plan/execute project goals and time schedules in area of vehicle expertise
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills
- Must be able to obtain and keep a commercial driving license and medical certificate
