I2X Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Colorado springs, CO or Huntville, AL. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret Clearance.

• Perform requirements elicitation using behavioral artifacts such as use cases that are used both to understand and to convey understanding of the required behaviors and performance of the system
• Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews
• Work will be performed under the direction of the Systems Engineering Manager and Product Owner, the Core Systems Engineering team lead, and support various project engineers as well as to interface with team members, management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available
• Responsibilities include adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to customer working level counterparts as-required
• Candidate will be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development including iteration planning, providing status, and supporting agile team leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering. Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering or other Engineering discipline is desirable.
• 7 years of experience
• Must possess an understanding of systems engineering process and principles
• Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions
• Experience in requirements elicitation including the use behavior diagrams as an analysis tool to understand and decompose requirements
• Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g. specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.)
• Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions
• Excellent communications skills are required (written and oral) as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
• Able to write and implement engineering plans within a project
• Desired skills include experience working within an Agile development environment, experience with Systems Analysis, Metric Development and Architecture development
• Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, and specialty engineers to develop solutions that includes a background in all aspects of the systems development life cycle
• Should have demonstrated contributions to implementation that includes the ability to analyze high level needs and defined a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that have led to a fielded product
• Should have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively, clearly present technical approaches and findings, and have experience in writing and implementing engineering plans within a project
• Should have experience in interacting with the customer to elicit requirements as well as with stakeholders to convey an understanding of the intent of the requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
