We are seeking a Db2 for z/OS Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team providing system support of Db2 for z/OS in the Mainframe Database Technical Services group.

Database Technical Services group within ITS - Mainframe Delivery is responsible for Support, Design and Building of mainframe databases on Db2 for z/OS. We also provide consultation services with Solution Designers, Architects and Application developers on application design, functions and operational usage that is related to DB2 for z/OS database.

Job Description/Accountabilities:

This job posting is for Senior Db2 for z/OS DBA. The successful candidate will be involved in the analysis, building, testing, and deployment of Db2z Databases and related products:

• Maintain Db2z Databases on the z/OS platform.
• providing DDL
• providing Plan/Package guidance
• Bind process.
• SQL Review
• SQL Explain
• Performance & Capacity advice
• Provide Data Modeling assistance.
• Support Db2z application developers.
• Support Db2z related products.
  
  

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:

College / University or equivalent work experience

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

5-15 years of Db2 for z/OS system and application experience, with most of the following skills:

• Solid understanding of Db2z Databases internal and/or external
• Solid understanding of Db2z components and architecture
• Sound knowledge of Db2z diagnostics tools (Broadcom Db Tools, Db2 Utilities is an asset)
• Performance analysis skills is an asset
• Sound programming skills, Assembler and Cobol knowledge is an asset
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• The successful candidate must be a quick learner, a team player
