Our client is looking to add a Sr Business Analyst drives change by collaborating with business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver impactful solutions. The role involves deep engagement in all phases of Agile and Waterfall projects, from requirements gathering to delivery. This key role ensures that business needs are met through continuous collaboration, iterative feedback, and alignment with Agile best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Discover Baseline: Partner with business stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, discovering, analyzing, and documenting the current state of business processes, systems, and workflows, gathering detailed insights into existing practices, identifying gaps or inefficiencies, and capturing requirements to inform future enhancements. Translate business needs into epics and user stories, with the ability to breakdown complex business requirements into clear, concise acceptance criteria. Employ techniques such as user story mapping, persona development, and journey mapping to capture comprehensive business requirements. The analysis will provide a clear understanding of the baseline environment, which will be essential for driving informed decision-making and aligning project goals with business needs.
- Manage Product Backlog: Collaboratively build, prioritize, and refine the product backlog independently or in partnership with the Product Owner and Scrum Master. Ensure user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with business goals and Agile principles.
- Lead Agile Ceremonies: Actively participate in and lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Facilitate discussions to ensure clear understanding and continuous improvement.
- Deliver Continuous Value: Advocate for a continuous delivery mindset, ensuring that incremental improvements are delivered regularly. Work with development and QA teams to validate and refine solutions through iterative feedback and testing. Guide decision making leveraging analysis techniques such as impact analysis or root cause analysis to help teams make informed decisions
- Create and Validate Artifacts: Develop and maintain artifacts such as data mappings, process flows, wireframes, and prototypes that align with user needs and project goals. Use these artifacts to validate solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Facilitate Communication: Serve as a bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle. Leverage collaborative tools and techniques to enhance communication and transparency.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: 7 years of experience in business analysis or IT roles with a strong emphasis on Agile methodologies.
- Agile Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, including backlog management, user story creation, and Agile ceremonies.
- Business Analysis Skills: Strong capability in eliciting, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements in Agile environments. Proficiency with tools such as Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar Agile project management tools.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. A self-starter, capable of driving initiatives forward, inspiring cross-functional teams to archive the desired result. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Technical Acumen: Proficiency in data analysis, with a solid understanding of relational databases, data management, and solid SQL skills.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Curious, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and improvement. Open to experimenting with new approaches and technologies and can problem solve and think critically to identify and recommend solutions and opportunities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Domain Experience: 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry or similar regulated environments.
- Agile Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Agile Business Analyst (IIBA-AAC), or similar are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., SSRS), as well as knowledge of a variety of DevOps, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices is a plus.
The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($60-70/hr). Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law. A range of medical, dental, retirement and/or other benefits are available after a waiting period
