Job Description: Using a broad base of knowledge about the use of technology tools in serving investment management business, the data solutions specialist will support the reliable, efficient, and high-performance operation of mission critical business applications throughout client environment. This includes monitoring business application performance, overseeing application integrations, automating manual processes, ensuring application security, coordinating with third party applications service providers, and providing operational and management reporting to various groups inside and outside the organization. This position provides the opportunity to be involved in all stages of business solution definition, development, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities
The Data Solutions Specialist will support the business completing a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
- Implement workload automation to eliminate manual processes and improve data quality.
- Ensure documentation of existing processes is current and appropriate for the maintenance and operation of complex processes.
- Provide end-user support on business applications.
- Research, evaluate, implement and train users on new technologies and applications.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement; recommend and implement technical solutions.
- Identify issues and effectively research and resolve problems including root cause analysis.
- Manage timely maintenance and upgrade of system software and infrastructure.
- Provide reports and self-service reporting tools that maximize the value of system information in the operations and management of the company.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to meet common goals.
- Champion disciplined, quality-centered processes for the definition, development, and deployment of IT solutions.
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proactive problem solver with strong analytic, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
- Must be able to collaborate with others while being committed to being an individual contributor on a daily basis.
- 3 years working with relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred).
- 3 years of experience using scripting and/or programming languages (PowerShell or C# preferred).
- Articulate and polished communication skills, the individual will interact with all levels and roles within the business.
- Exposure to any of the following software packages: Charles River, Advent APX, Bloomberg, Factset.
- 3 –5 years of experience in investment management industry and knowledge of common systems and interfaces
- 3 –5 years of experience in project management practices and execution
- Experience with investment accounting systems, preferably SS&C Advent APX
- Experience with order management systems, preferably Charles River
- Experience managing vendor relationships.
