Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Data Center Support: Perform physical installations, structured cabling, and hardware deployments per Data Center Architect’s direction.
- Delivery & Installation Management: Accept shipments, oversee rack/stack of Dell/Cisco hardware, and ensure proper power and network connections.
- 3rd Party Coordination: Arrange access for vendors, service providers, and carriers while ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Networking & Infrastructure: Assist with Cisco UCS, Nexus, ACI, Catalyst switches, and patching fiber/copper connections.
- Hosting Partner & Carrier Liaison: Work with colocation providers and ISPs to troubleshoot connectivity and network provisioning.
- Physical Layer Duties: Install and manage structured cabling (fiber/copper), power distribution, labeling, and equipment mounting.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize SolarWinds, SNMP, and CLI tools to diagnose network/server issues.
- Security & Compliance: Maintain compliance with ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and corporate security policies.
- Flexibility & Availability: Support night and weekend deployments, maintenance windows, and emergency troubleshooting as needed.
- Dell Technologies: PowerEdge Servers, VxRail, PowerStore, EMC Storage (Unity, VMAX, Isilon)
- Cisco Networking: Nexus, UCS, ACI, Catalyst, ASR, ISR, Firewalls
- Physical Layer Duties: Rack/stack, structured cabling, patching, labeling, power distribution
- Data Center Operations: Accepting deliveries, coordinating 3rd parties, managing access
- Hosting & Carrier Coordination: Working with hosting partners and telecom carriers
- Virtualization & Cloud: VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: SolarWinds, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, SNMP
- Security & Compliance: Firewall policies, VLAN segmentation, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001
- Availability: Flexible for night and weekend work as required
- Dell EMC Certified Specialist – PowerEdge/Storage
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / CCNP Data Center
- BICSI Certification (Preferred for cabling expertise) CompTIA Server / Network
