- Support the development of an assurance planning and reporting process and perform on-going compliance assurance reviews;
- Report on control deficiencies to management and make recommendations to mitigate risk and add value and engaging remediation of identified issues through follow-up;
- Play an active role in the maintenance and review of policies and procedures, including ensuring they are up to date with all legislation and best practices;
- Work closely with the business team and other risk functions to manage the AML and compliance due diligence of prospective partners and customers;
- Perform financial crimes related review and investigation on partners and customers, and act as the subject matter expert of activities relating to the prevention and detection of financial crimes;
- Interface with regulators, guide Compliance and AML team members on filing of regulatory reports, license and registration maintenance and renewal documents and co-ordinating any other regulatory notifications to the Bank of Canada, state regulatory agencies and Fintrac and FinCEN;
- Provide compliance support to audit (both internal and external) and track remediation items to completion;
- Work closely with other internal functions and teams to ensure overall compliance to all applicable regulatory and PSP licensing requirements;
- As a senior level member, represent the Compliance team at internal/external meetings as required; and
- Lead compliance projects as required in support of the Americas region compliance and AML related matters.
- At least 8 to 10 years of relevant experience with regulatory compliance or working experience in e-commerce, payments, card schemes or financial services industry is preferred.
- Team player and ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines, and in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment.
- CAMS certification helpful.
- Experience with analysing regulatory requirements.
- Experience with managing regulatory relationships.
- Strong ability to understand governance, processes and controls.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a drive to build influence and secure buy-in for necessary changes within a global company.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment across various time zones.
