What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrument Engineer position at IT Resource Hunter?
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide technical direction for electrical and instrumentation engineering teams.
- Oversee project deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Produce and validate project estimates, design criteria, and detailed engineering documents.
- Lead design and development of electrical systems, including lighting, power, motor control, and power distribution.
- Review vendor drawings, ensure design compliance, and generate procurement packages.
- Lead project planning, track progress, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Develop cost estimates, schedules, and construction plans for projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, ensuring efficient and accurate work.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
- Licensing: Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical design calculations (lighting, wire sizing, voltage drop, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and related standards.
- Experience with power systems (1kV/15kV), switchgear, MCCs, and other industrial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with electrical design and drafting software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
- Expertise in PLC, HMI, and DCS systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.
