Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in first-party property insurance disputes, including litigation and negotiation.
- Draft, review, and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
- Take and defend depositions in both pre-suit and litigation stages.
- Attend and actively participate in mediations to resolve cases.
- Collaborate with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel to move cases forward.
- Assist in firm-sponsored marketing events and other business development initiatives.
- Ensure efficient case management, keeping clients informed and meeting deadlines.
- Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in property insurance litigation, with a focus on first-party claims.
- Strong experience in drafting and arguing dispositive and discovery motions.
- Expertise in legal research and writing, with proficiency in Westlaw and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in taking depositions and attending mediations.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
- Experience in litigating bad faith claims.
- Previous exposure to a variety of property insurance coverage issues and disputes.
