Job Title:Director of Emergency Services

Salary Range: Startring $55-65k

Must-Haves
- Retired first responder (fire service preferred) within the last 3–5 years.
- Currently living in the Idaho Falls community or surrounding area.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in fire service roles (e.g., Lieutenant, Captain, District
Chief, Fire Marshal).
- Teaching, public relations, marketing, or community education experience.
- Strong network of 80–100 local first responders in your contact list.
- Type-A personality with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience organizing and participating in fundraising or community outreach events.
- Passion for victim advocacy and disaster assistance.
- Knowledge of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, F.O.O.L.S., or similar
organisations.
Job Purpose
The Director of Emergency Services provides critical assistance to fire/disaster victims
through a victim assistance program, while educating first responders and the public about
available services. This role also involves community outreach, fundraising, and public
relations to ensure impactful engagement with the fire service community and disaster
victims.
Responsibilities
Emergency Response & Victim Assistance
- Be on-call and ready to respond promptly to fire/disaster calls (weather permitting).
- Provide immediate support and education to disaster victims.
- Collaborate with board-up crews, estimators, and sales teams to ensure victims feel secure
and supported.
Community Education & Outreach
- Educate fire departments, police, EMS, dispatchers, and other key personnel about victim
services.
- Build public awareness by meeting with community groups and explaining the program’s
role.
- Participate in or organize local charity fundraising events, benefiting organizations such as
the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation or F.O.O.L.S.
Program Management & Reporting
- Complete and document all training and onboarding plans.
- Submit weekly activity reports to direct supervisors.
- Plan and manage events to foster community engagement and partnerships.
Relationship Building
- Reconnect with the fire service community, leveraging your network and experience to
build trust.
- Foster relationships with local leaders, first responders, and community members to
strengthen outreach efforts.
Qualifications
Required
- Retired first responder with a strong connection to the fire service community.
- Resides in the Idaho Falls area.
- Proven leadership and teaching experience in roles such as Lieutenant, Captain, District
Chief, or Fire Marshal.
- Experience in public relations, marketing, or education.
- Type-A personality with a proactive and organized approach.
Preferred
- Passion for community service and victim advocacy.
- Experience with charity events or public outreach programs.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
