Senior Network Engineer
Location
On-site for the first 90 days, with flexible work-from-home options (1-2 days per week) thereafter.
Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our Network Operations team. As a seasoned professional, you'll design, deploy and manage secure, scalable networks, ensuring seamless data transport and rapid issue resolution. Your expertise in network engineering, automation and cloud technologies will drive business success and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design and Deployment
Design, deploy and manage LANs, WANs and WLANs, ensuring security and scalability.
Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
Network Security and Performance
Implement and maintain robust network security measures to protect against cyber threats.
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
Automation and Innovation
Automate routine network tasks to enhance efficiency and focus on strategic initiatives.
Analyze new products and make recommendations for implementation.
Knowledge Sharing and Documentation
Document network configurations and procedures for future reference and knowledge transfer.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues escalated from lower support tiers.
Professional Development
Stay current with the latest network technologies and security best practices.
Requirements
Essential Experience
7 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Cisco routing and switching technologies.
Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell.
3 years of experience building, deploying and managing public cloud IaaS and PaaS services.
Experience with WAN, campus, data center, wireless and enterprise-scale networks.
Experience with firewalls, load balancers and VPN devices.
Solid knowledge of infrastructure systems, including compute, OS, hypervisor, network, storage, database and security.
Desirable Skills
Experience with Cisco SD-WAN technologies (Viptela and Meraki).
Familiarity with complex BGP routing and diverse cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
Experience with cloud-hosted voice providers like Genesys.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsets, such as Terraform or Ansible.
