Job Objective
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a specialized professional in the field of behavior analysis. Their primary role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral intervention programs for individuals with behavioral challenges or developmental disabilities. BCBA job responsibilities typically include conducting assessments, creating behavior intervention plans, providing training to caregivers, and monitoring progress through data analysis. Job Status:
Location: Columbia, South Carolina and metropolitan area
Accountable to: CEO, Clinical Director, Human Resource Director
Essential Duties:
- Conducting functional behavior assessments and analyzing data to develop comprehensive behavior intervention plans tailored to the individual needs of clients.
- Designing, implementing, and monitoring Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs to address behavioral, social, and adaptive skills deficits.
- Providing guidance and training to staff, caregivers, and families on effective implementation of behavior intervention strategies.
- Supervising and mentoring Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBTs) and other behavior support staff, ensuring the quality and consistency of service delivery.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, therapists, and medical professionals, to ensure holistic treatment and intervention approaches.
- Conducting ongoing evaluations and assessments to measure client progress and make necessary adjustments to the intervention plans.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of client treatment plans, progress reports, and any necessary regulatory compliance requirements.
- Staying abreast of the latest research, trends, and best practices in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis to inform and enhance clinical practices.
- Demonstrates the ability to write clinically and diagnose appropriately, justifying all diagnoses utilizing DSM language.
- Communicates effectively with referral sources, teams and It’s Your Move administrative staff about the status of assigned cases.
- Resubmits requested updates/changes/corrections of work within 24-48 hours of receipt.
- Submit notes before leaving the clients’ presence.
- Check email and respond to It’s Your Move administrative staff in a timely manner.
- Attends initial and ongoing training for all clinical staff (yearly training).
- Attends monthly team meetings and all meetings that may impact your role/process.
- Demonstrates the ability to organize, prioritize required and assigned job duties and functions with minimal direct supervision.
- Complies with all State and Federal Program requirements.
- Participate in annual performance appraisal.
- Demonstrates flexibility as it relates to a change of work hours on short notice; performs other duties as required.
Job Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- A master's degree or higher in behavior analysis, education, psychology, or a related field.
- Substantial experience in conducting functional behavior assessments, designing behavior intervention plans, and implementing ABA programs.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiar with DSM V - TR.
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities to guide and mentor other behavioral support staff.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis to measure client progress and intervention effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards outlined by the BACB.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest research and developments in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, Medicaid services and community mental health resources.
- Experience in quality improvement processes, auditing, and clinical records documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Also, experience with clinical terminology.
- Must have a valid South Carolina Driver license and automobile insurance policy.
- Must pass Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening.
