iTalent Digital is seeking a Technical Consulting Engineer to join our Technology Practice Group. This role is located in Richardson, TX. This is an exciting role for the right individual to continue to cultivate your skills and domain expertise.

The individual selected will be instrumental in helping us continue to deliver excellence to our base of marquee Fortune 500 accounts. You will be joining a family of other SMEs who have also specialized within this sector.

You will also interact closely with our iTalent Practice Directors, who will partner with you and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring.

What You'll Do:

• Provide second/third level technical support for Optical and Data/IP technologies to company customers, partners, account teams, and other TAC engineers. Apply analytical skills and technical knowledge to tackle product and network problems of moderate to high complexity.
• You will provide support on a world-wide basis
• Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Provide technology/product/troubleshooting training and intellectual property material as the need arises
• Act as a focal point for large account network problem resolution
• Effectively utilize moderate to complex lab setups to recreate and solve problems
• Submit complete and accurate defect reports in the area of expertise
• Interact across TAC teams and development teams at peer level
• Receive minimal direction, no instruction on routine work, and general instruction on new assignments

Required qualifications and skills

• 5 years with one or more Optical skills (SONET, DWDM, OC, SDH, ML, MSTP, etc)
• 5 years solid understanding of Networking industry, products and protocols
• 5 Years Strong analytical and in-depth troubleshooting skills for Optical/DWDM
• Strong background in Troubleshooting and Resolving Optical Networking/DWDM Equipment
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in written
• Demonstrated ability to determine problems and deliver known solutions
• Determine root cause and resolution for previously unknown problems
• Ability to work effectively with and provide mentorship to other members of the workgroup
• Experience with handling and resolving critical customer issues/problems
• Working with multi-functional teams
• Presentation skills
• Previous Customer Support experience
• Database experience (Oracle, SQL, Sybase)
• Unix experience

Education

• BS in CS or EE or equivalent experience
• CCOS certification (either SONET or SDH)
• CCNA, CCNP, or higher networking certification
