Production Supervisor

WST Energy, a company of Italmatch Chemicals, has an opening for a Production Supervisor at our Miles City, MT location.

We seek a highly motivated, hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee our manufacturing/blending operations in a fast-paced environment. This role involves managing a small team (4 to 5) of production workers, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing efficiency while enforcing safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent problem-solving skills and an understanding of manufacturing processes. This role is well suited for someone who has been a Lead person and is ready for the next opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management

• Supervise, train, and mentor production workers, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to maintain efficiency and productivity.
  
  

Production Scheduling

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet deadlines and company objectives.
• Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as needed to optimize efficiency.
  
  

Quality Control

• Oversee production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Identify and address any quality issues to maintain product excellence.
  
  

Safety Compliance

• Implement and enforce workplace safety policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  
  

Inventory Management

• Monitor raw material and supply levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure a steady supply of materials.
  
  

Performance Evaluation

• Conduct employee performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching for improvement.
• Address performance issues and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  
  

Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure production machinery is properly maintained and operational.
• Report any equipment malfunctions and coordinate necessary repairs.
  
  

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting

• Identify production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Continuously seek ways to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret production plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Technical knowledge of production equipment and maintenance procedures.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of leadership experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in a science-related related field
