Department : Probation

Position Description : Provides supervision and case management services to all types of adult and juvenile offenders. Provides for public safety, holds offenders accountable for their decisions, completes offender assessments and makes appropriate referrals, utilizes opportunities to speak to the public regarding corrections and provides clear and concise investigative reports to the court.   • minimum of 300 hours (approximately 3 months) of internship or work experience in a community corrections agency (probation / parole) or prior case management experience in a Human Services related field (i.e. school counseling, group home, vocational program, detention center, correctional placement).
  • Successfully attained the designation of Probation Officer, Senior at this or another public-sector corrections agency AND minimum 2 years' work experience as a Probation Officer in a Community Corrections Agency (Probation and Parole)
  • Successfully attained the designation of Probation Officer, Career at this or another public-sector corrections agency AND earned a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Criminal Justice, Social work, Sociology, Psychology, Corrections or closely related field AND minimum 5 years' work experience as a Probation Officer in a Community Corrections Agency (Probation and Parole)
  • Successfully attained the designation of Probation Officer, Career at this or another public-sector corrections agency AND 6 years' work experience as a Probation Officer in a Community Corrections Agency (Probation and Parole)
