POSITION SUMMARY
Classification: Grade 11 (Local 580)
- Assessment of needs based on the community health status and available resources
- Policy development being part of the solution through proposals to support and encourage better health
- Assurance through necessary high quality, effective services available in the community
The 6 Areas of Public Health Responsibility are as follows:
- Assure an adequate local public health infrastructure
- Promote healthy communities and healthy behavior
- Prevent the spread of infectious disease
- Protect against environmental health hazards
- Prepare for and respond to disasters and assist communities in recovery
- Assure the quality and accessibility of health services
Position assignments may include but are not limited to: Maternal Child Health home visiting, WIC (Women, Infant, Children), MN Choice Assessment, Case Management for home and community based services, personal care assessments, immunizations, disease prevention and control, emergency preparedness, health education, Child and Teen Check-up outreach, Follow Along Program, environmental health, worksite wellness, childcare health consulting, Towards Zero Death, chemical health prevention, quality improvement.
