POSITION TITLE: Senior Oracle DBA
GOVERNMENT AGENCY: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
POSITION INFORMATION: Full-Time Position; Government contractor supporting DEA
LOCATION: Chantilly, VA; Telework policy - 3 days in office/2 days remote after initial 30 days onsite
POSITION TIMING: Position requires candidate to obtain a DEA clearance (in addition to the DoD Secret required); DEA clearance can take 2-4 weeks to process.

Senior Oracle DBA provides highly technical expertise and guidance in the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS). Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Evaluates and recommends available DBMS products after matching requirements with system capabilities. Defines required database administration policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Prepares and delivers presentations on DBMS concepts.
Responsibilities
- Support Special Operations initiatives through database design, data modeling, and Linux Oracle database administration
- Assist in tuning complex data analytical queries
- Monitor database environments to ensure optimum performance
- Provide technical expertise to application development teams
- Collaborate with data architects on the logical models and translate into an optimal physical model that performs efficiently under various load profiles
- Assist with metadata management and resolution of semantic conflicts as result of data integration from disparate data sources
- Assist with decommissioning efforts and architecture and design of the online archive data store
- Maintains security posture of the Linux Oracle platform in accordance DEA control sets and patch management.
Qualifications
- 10 years relevant work experience as Oracle DBA
- Experience Data Modeling using state of the art tools e.g. ER Studio
- Expertise in Metadata Management
- 7-10 years expertise in large and complex SQL query development, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle tools.
- Good experience in diagnosis, Performance tuning and Oracle Internals, including Oracle 12c in memory feature
- Experience in Data integration and analytics
- Knowledge of OEM Grid Control 12c
- Strong working knowledge of LINUX Red Hat Enterprise (RHEL) and Windows OS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred or matched experience
- Candidate must have a minimum of an ACTIVE Secret security clearance
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Standard office environment; ability to lift 25 pounds.
