Position Summary :
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) plays a vital role in providing expert medical care to critically ill infants within our state-of-the-art NICU. This position requires a high level of clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of infants, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the medical team.
- Perform a wide range of medical procedures, including but not limited to :
- Intubation and extubation
- Central line placement and management
- Umbilical artery and vein catheterization
- Performing and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., ABGs, blood gases)
- Administering medications and blood products
- Monitor infant's progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provide education and support to families regarding their infant's condition and care.
- Participate in rounds, conferences, and other educational activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research activities.
