Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Lead to join our team and oversee the inspection activities within our production facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality standards and specifications. They will coordinate the flow of inspection material with a team of inspectors, performing detailed incoming, in-process, and final inspections at every stage of the production process. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of quality standards, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the inspection process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assign tasks to ensure that material flow through inspection is timely, accurate, and effectively communicated with interdepartmental stakeholders.
- Perform visual and mechanical inspections using statistical sampling for incoming components and raw materials in accordance with SOPs to ensure conformance to requirements and specifications.
- Conduct first article inspections for new parts and revisions, ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Monitor product quality at various stages of production through in-process inspections, ensuring each phase adheres to predefined quality standards and identifying potential issues early.
- Collaborate with the production team to provide real-time feedback and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Perform final inspections on finished products to ensure they meet the company's quality standards and customer specifications before shipment.
- Use various tools and inspection equipment to assess product conformity and document inspection results.
- Report any non-conformances and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Control nonconforming products, including generating Defective Material Reports (DMRs) and processing nonconforming material out of the Material Review Board (MRB).
- Perform ISO internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Will be required to perform additional duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or higher preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Electronic Assembly environment.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word and Excel; experience with database software is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting or moving of lightweight to moderately weighted materials.
- Fine motor skills in the hands to inspect assembled products and use inspection hand tools.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing repetitive inspection tasks.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach.
- Ability to lift packages up to 50lbs.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a production shop environment.
- May shift to different workstations as inspection needs require.
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
