The Interventional Radiology Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality patient care during interventional radiology procedures. Duties
- Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures by conducting thorough assessments and obtaining medical histories.
- Assist physicians during procedures by providing support in sterile processing and maintaining equipment.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with catheterization when necessary.
- Implement discharge planning by educating patients and their families about post-procedure care and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain compliance with established standards of care and infection control protocols.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Skills
