Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team in a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, responding promptly to any changes or complications.
- Assist with physical examinations and sonography as needed throughout the labor process.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about the labor process, pain management options, and newborn care.
- Maintain high standards of care in accordance with hospital protocols and best practices.
- Provide support for patients with disabilities, ensuring all individuals receive equitable care.
- Participate in infection control measures, particularly in cases involving infectious disease care.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Experience
- Current nursing license with experience in labor and delivery nursing preferred.
- Familiarity with pediatrics, PICU, ostomy care, and ventilation techniques is advantageous.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a teaching hospital environment.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient education and support for diverse populations.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
