Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and the ability to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role involves working closely with patients who may have a variety of medical conditions, including those with developmental disabilities, trauma, and geriatric needs. The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high-quality healthcare while adhering to best practices and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and assist with behavioral health assessments when necessary.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using ICD-10 coding standards.
- Educate patients and families on health management, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Background in trauma medicine or hospital medicine is advantageous.
- Experience in geriatrics or inpatient settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with behavioral health practices and diagnostic evaluation techniques is a plus.
- Experience working with children is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
