Overview
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Press Operators and Cutting Operators to join our first and third shift team.
The Press Operator runs computer-controlled machines that press, shape and design products. The press operator will be able to setup the production run with the accurate defined materials and work instructions in a timely manner. The press operator will be able to troubleshoot machines for any malfunctions or contacting maintenance when needed to fix any machine parts.
The Cutting Room Operator runs computer-controlled machines that cut material for lay-up and press. The cutting operator will read job orders, select the material and assign personnel.
Duties
Press Operator
- Reviewing job orders and securing the necessary materials to set up and run the assigned machine.
- Laying up parts according to the work order instructions.
- Completing initial QC on parts including length, width, thickness, and weight.
- Act as Safety Champion with thorough understanding of incident report completion and awareness and suggestions for safety improvements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the factory environment.
Cutting Operator
- Four sub-roles in cutting:
o Selecting the material, setting it up on a rack, picking a sheeting length and sheeting the material into a stack of specified count
o Taking the stack of sheeted material, aligning it into a machine, selecting the correct cut file, and then breaking down the cut material into organized stacks.
o Taking the organized stacks, printing labels, and creating the basis for each individual part by ensuring proper count, labeling, and entering the data into the system (Lay-up).
o Selecting material and cutting program for a single ply cutter. Stacking and labeling the sheeted material.
- Moving finished product and preparing paperwork to move finished product to lay up room or press operators in a time sensitive manner.
- Keeping the cutter running smoothly by following instructions of use and notifying appropriate team members to troubleshoot or minor repair.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the factory environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory setting is preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure and apply the information is required.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Timeliness and attendance.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual productivity.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Work is performed on a shop floor. Position requires standing for the entire shift. Work environment is fast-paced, and employee must be able to multi-task.
