Role Overview
The Asset Management Technician plays a critical role in ensuring seamless IT hardware operations at the designated site. This position involves imaging, installing, and deploying laptops and desktop computers, as well as setting up network and local printers and scanners as needed. The technician will also support hardware asset management functions, including inventory management, lifecycle tracking, and assisting with laptop imaging and deployment. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a high standard of technical excellence. Work Location
This role is based in Washington, DC , and will require on-site support at the designated location.
Responsibilities
Deployment & Installation :
Image and install laptops and desktops following established processes.
Set up network and local printers / scanners as needed.
Ensure imaged devices have the correct base image, settings, patches, and software overlays for end users.
Perform Active Directory configuration and Group Policy Object (GPO) deployment where applicable.
Stage and deploy equipment to designated user locations based on site plans.
Restore user data and profiles on newly deployed devices.
Asset Management & Inventory :
Conduct physical inventory of IT assets to maintain an up-to-date inventory system.
Track and manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including receiving, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
Support the proper disposal of retired assets, including staging for vendor pickup or shipment.
Customer Support :
Deliver top-notch technical support and customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Document actions and solutions performed for users.
Communicate effectively with clients to ensure satisfaction and resolve deployment-related issues.
Adhere to organizational standards and government customer requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned based on evolving needs.
Minimum Requirements
Skills & Qualifications :
Strong verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized with a commitment to excellence.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
Familiarity with standard ticketing and inventory management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
Clearance & Physical Requirements :
Active Secret security clearance is required.
Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs. of equipment.
Preferred Experience
1-3 years of experience in an analytical or technical role, with a focus on inventory management.
Industry-standard certifications such as A , Security , or Network are highly desirable.
Experience working with government customers and adhering to their requirements.
