Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Unix Systems Administrator to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in UNIX/Linux environments. This role includes system deployment, configuration, cybersecurity compliance, performance tuning, customer support, and program oversight for global mission-critical IT infrastructure.
Job Description:
- Administer, configure, and maintain UNIX/Linux (Red Hat, Solaris, HP-UX) systems across virtual and standalone environments.
- Implement system upgrades, security patches, and STIG-compliant configurations in accordance with DLA policies.
- Manage user/system accounts using Red Hat Identity Manager (IDM) and support ACAS scanning and vulnerability remediation.
- Install and support COTS applications (e.g., Splunk, HBSS, ArcSight) and monitor performance, logs, and alerts.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving system performance, integrity, and security for both NIPRnet and SIPRnet environments.
- Provide Tier II/III technical support and maintain CRM, SLA, MOU/MOA, and escalation documentation across CONUS/OCONUS.
- Support RMF/DIACAP security assessments, accreditation readiness, and compliance with DoD, NIST, and DLA cybersecurity frameworks.
- Assist in planning, executing, and closing out IT infrastructure projects, including briefings and documentation deliverables.
- Conduct technical reviews and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support transitions or consolidations.
- Ensure change management compliance, and maintain system audit trails, incident reports, and IAVM responses.
- Participate in the development of enterprise tools and benchmarking templates to support infrastructure planning.
- Conduct IA Control Validation (IACV) reviews, audit trail evaluations, and vulnerability scans on a recurring basis.
Qualifications (Must Haves):
- Must possess an active Secret Clearance.
- Must be on-site during business hours at one of the DLA locations: Columbus, OH; Dayton, OH; and Richmond, VA.
- Seven (7) years of systems administration experience on UNIX operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Solaris, or HP-UX.
- Relevant RHCSA or CompTIA Linux certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
