We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Physical Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design of Access Control and CCTV systems in the competitive Security Integration industry. This position requires a keen understanding of physical security protocols, risk assessment, and the latest technologies in security systems. You will assist in conducting security surveys, evaluating vulnerabilities, and proposing solutions to mitigate risks. Responsibilities:
- Update CAD drawings and create engineering change orders to reflect any changes to the design that have been performed
- Various tasks working with Excel worksheets
- installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on systems on-site and off-site.
- Establish design criteria, perform design calculations
- Assist with cost estimating, field investigation, report writing
- Field testing and inspections
- Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates
- Work from detailed drawings, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and verbal or written instructions.
- Provide technical assistance to onsite personnel
- Attends internal meetings as necessary and documents key decisions and action items
- Prepares for site visits by evaluating project scopes of work
- Site visits require the ability to traverse uneven terrain wearing PPE
- As directed, performs quality assurance activities
- Must be able to work independently as well in small groups in an informal environment towards company goals.
- Interface and coordinate with architects and other disciplines and working with others as needed on projects.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and technological developments to ensure the company stays competitive.
Requirements:
- BS/ AS Degree in electronics, electrical circuits
- Knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical design principles.
- Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Flexible schedule
- Travel: 25-50% without any restrictions.
- Ability to read and understand advanced technical information/documentation
- Experience with basic hand tools and knowledge in proper use of multimeter
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook)
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to disassemble, troubleshoot and re-assemble hardware
- Decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Ability to think critically, generating reports and information required for regulatory filings, proceedings, and audits.
- The ability to think and act in a logical and methodical way
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to motivate and influence others
- Proven time management ability;
- able to manage strict timelines with multiple projects in order to meet deadlines under high-pressure environment.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
- Possess excellent follow-up skills
