The company provides support throughout all phases of the molding process, from design to mold sampling, utilizing expertise in various processes including thermoset, thermoplastic injection, compression, injection-compression, and transfer as well as general machining and refurbishment.

The Position
This role pro-actively works with internal/external customers to improve product quality, undertaking continuous improvement activities based on data-driven approaches to reduce scrap and returns. The position improves the quality management system, including auditing and maintaining ISO 9001 certification, trains plant quality personnel, creates standard work instructions, and reviews prints and standards.

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with quality management systems like ISO-9001.
• Organizes plant quality auditing activities.
• Organizes plant calibration activities.
• Closely works with internal customers to drive continuous improvement.
• Reviews internal and external non-conformances.
• Works closely with inspection team members to uplift inspection skill sets.
• Issues/responds to Internal/External Corrective actions (8D's) requests as required.
• Maintains product certifications for Specialty Products as assigned.
• Develops PPAP's, Control Plans, Flow Diagrams, and PFMEA.
• Performs capability studies on processes as requested – CpK, PpK.
• Creates standard work instructions and quality profiles for manufacturing, engineering, & quality of parts & special manufacturing processes.
• Supports product development.
• Assists with detail of engineering notes & work to the manufacturing floor.
• Assists with quality training of inspectors, operators, supervisors.
• Reviews prints, material specifications, & standards, & assists maintaining latest revisions.
• Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality.
• Less than 5% travel may be required.

Job Requirements
Education

• A Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent discipline is required with a minimum of 4 years quality engineering experience working in an ISO/TS certified company.

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

• 4 years quality engineering experience working in ISO/TS certified facility.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management systems, Kaizen, DOE, FMEA and other best practice protocols is preferred.
• Superior organizational, analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, written and verbal communication skills.
• Good negotiation, conflict resolution, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
• Must be able to perform as a team leader and team player.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project software.
• Basic knowledge of operating measurement equipment (CMM preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for regular operation of a computer.
• Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly.
• Life, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 40lbs occasionally.
• Exposure to typical manufacturing and office environment.
• Exposure to extremes of heat in manufacturing area.
