Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sanitation Manager to lead and oversee sanitation operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role involves ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, maintaining hygiene protocols, and managing a dedicated sanitation team. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct sanitation teams during equipment cleaning, facility maintenance, and scheduled line downtimes.
- Develop, implement, and monitor sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) and the master sanitation schedule.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations, including GMP, HACCP, and other compliance standards.
- Conduct routine pre- and post-operation inspections to confirm cleaning effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for new product launches and sanitation process improvements.
- Oversee the training and development of sanitation staff, focusing on best practices, safety, and effective use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Manage inventory and proper use of cleaning chemicals, ensuring compliance with supplier specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all sanitation activities and support internal and external audits.
- Monitor staffing levels and coordinate scheduling to balance productivity and labor costs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a sanitation or related role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of food safety programs and regulations such as GMP, SSOP, HACCP, and OSHA.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Proficient in using sanitation-related software and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
- Familiarity with food allergens and pathogen control measures.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
- Willingness to wear and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
