What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver - Hourly position at Ithaca City School District?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.
- Drives a school bus safely and professionally.
- Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip inspections.
- Reports any mechanical defect to immediate superior.
- Checks and fills vehicle with fuel.
- Instructs or informs passengers about safety practices when entering and / or leaving bus.
- Maintains orderly conduct of passengers while on bus.
- May clean interior and exterior of assigned vehicle.
- May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicle.
- May be required to administer first aid to passengers injured on bus.
- May install and remove tire chains when necessary.
- Complies with all traffic ordinances.
- Complies with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for Transportation.
- Participates in on-site training.
- Shows proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus.
May also be required to :
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Supervises students while transporting them.
